Sheila Charles WHERE IS THAT OLD FISH TANK
WHERE IS THAT OLD FISH TANK
My friend lets me read her World Focus
She brings it in once a week.
But due to several appointments
She missed 3 weeks. Outlook bleak!
So this weekend I set a morning aside
To catch up on three weeks news.
I enjoy each and every article
Penned by writers with differing views.
Sadly there’s nothing much to laugh about
It is mainly doom and gloom.
In fact, on several occasions,
I had to leave the room
To cheer myself up a bit
By having a comforting snack-
Like sweets, biscuits, chocolate.
How many times? I’m afraid I lost track.
Then suddenly, there it was-

Three-spined sticklebacks. Yes.
And it appears they are quite sociable.
A surprise I have to confess.
To look at the picture of one of them
You would honestly never guess!
I must say, I wonder, with so many problems
To be solved, why did they choose
To test the personalities of sticklebacks?
Well, it got a paragraph in the news.
Maybe the editor, in his wisdom
Thought with so much strife and grief
That what every reader needed
Was a big dollop of light relief!
AND WHY NOT
